I’m Giorgio (Gino) Garofalo, a sound designer and audio engineer based in Toronto, blending a lifelong passion for music and storytelling with a deep technical foundation in sound. A graduate of the renowned Harris Institute’s Audio Production Program, I transitioned from a career as a pharmaceutical executive into the world of audio—a move that felt like a return home. My path has taught me that dreams aren't just ideas — they’re callings you have to answer.
My experience spans tracking, mixing, mastering, ADR, Foley, and sound design for music, film, games, and interactive media. Whether I’m recording live instrumentation, designing immersive soundscapes, or piecing together complex multi-stem mixes, I approach each project with precision, creativity, and a collaborative mindset. I’m certified in Dolby Atmos/Vision workflows, and I'm actively progressing toward certifiication in Dante networking (Levels 1–3).
Before fully committing to audio, I led large teams and multimillion-dollar operations in pharmaceutical quality and compliance. That experience honed my skills in process optimization, systems thinking, creativity (surprising but true in pharma) and detail-oriented execution—tools I now apply in the studio every day.
I work fluidly across genres and formats using Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton Live—among others—in both studio and live settings. Outside the studio, I’m also the author of The Korian Epic Fantasy Series, which explores themes of human potential and transformation. Storytelling—whether through words or waveforms—remains at the heart of everything I create. You can explore my writing at giorgiogarofalo.com. After years of exploration and leadership in other fields, I’ve finally landed in the space where my heart has always belonged: telling stories through sound.
